- 1. Create your account
You can create your Seller Central Account at https://services.amazon.com/content/sell-on-amazon.htm?ld=SCSOAlogin.
- 2. Enter your Business Name and official address
During the registration process, enter your business name and official address. If you are a registered company, always enter the exact registered name and official address. On “Account Info” page, you can change or modify your account information under the “Settings” tab in Seller Central.
- 3. Enter your VAT number
Enter your correct VAT number when you create your Seller Central Account. You can enter it on the “Account Info” page under the “Settings” tab. In case, you are not VAT registered, you will be charged VAT as per your Amazon seller fees.
- 4. Enter your bank account number
In order to set up your payments account, you are required to enter your bank account number based on the country you are operating from. You can modify or change your bank account particulars on the “Account Info” page.
- 5. Enter your Credit Card number
While creating your Amazon Seller Account, you are required to provide your credit card particulars. The monthly subscription fee for your seller account will be charged to this credit card number.
- 6. Enter your shipping rates
It is very important that you enter the exact shipping information in order to achieve the best customer experience. You can enter you shipping prices on the “Shipping Settings” page.
- 7. Enter your policies and related information
You are required to enter your policies and related information in the “Your Info & Policies” page under the “Settings” tab. It should include your returns procedure, shipping details, and customer service. You are also required to fill in the “About Seller” and “Returns & Refunds” sections.
- Select the best listing method
Amazon has laid down strict policies regarding the listing of products on its platform. The seller’s activities are closely monitored by Amazon.
If you want to sell only a few products (less than 50), you can add them using the Seller Central “Add a Product”.
For selling multiple products (more than 50), you can use the Inventory File corresponding to your product category.
For creating new product pages, you are required follow the instructions as given on Amazon.
- Organize your product information
In order to create new products on Amazon, bar codes are required. Barcodes consist of only numbers without any space. You can get the barcodes for your product from the manufacturer of your products. If you are the manufacturer, you can buy barcodes from any of the official barcode agencies. For the products that are already sold on Amazon, you can use the ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) to produce new offers for these products. The ASIN is shown on each product detail page.
3.2. Product title
As per the Amazon guidelines, product titles are necessary, as they help customers in finding your products. The product titles should illustrate your product(s) in a few words. It is recommended to include your product listing keywords in the title.
3.3. Bullet point description
As per Amazon guidelines, the bullet point description of your product should include your product listing keywords. It must be brief and descriptive enough to catch the buyer’s attention. Infact, product description is the content that thoroughly describes your product in one go. Additionally, the information in this section must have the potential to influence the customer’s buying decision.
3.4. Product image
Amazon requires all the product images to be on a white background, and without any watermarks. The images should be clear and illustrate your product. The best-sized images are 1000×1000 pixels.
3.5. Product search-relevant terms
While selling on Amazon, you are required to add at least five relevant keywords to each of your products. It helps the customers to find them easily.
3.6. Amazon Product Classification
While selling on Amazon, you need to categorize your products appropriately, so that customers can find them easily. If a product is on the wrong side, it is less likely to be found or subsequently purchased by the customer.
